Bride and groom kissing in front of La Dogana wedding venue

What an incredible few days spent with Jodie and Matthew at Agriturismo La Dogana.

I arrived a day earlier than expected (thanks Ryanair), but this was a bit of a blessing as it gave me extra time to scope out the venue before most of the guests arrived the next day. I was welcomed by the lovely Lucia who runs the La Dogana estate who gave me all the info I needed.

The thing I love most about destination weddings is you get to spread the celebrations out over multiple days. It all kicked off on Wednesday with a welcome pizza party, the perfect way to get all your guests together to get to know each other before the wedding. The pizza was insane and the gelato, well lets just say I tried 3 out of the 4 flavours but don’t tell anyone.

Thursday was jam packed with a morning trip to Cortona town, wine tasting in the afternoon and dinner back at La Dogana. I had the morning off and got to explore Cortona. A stunning, traditional old Italian town with boutique shops and restaurants. I had the most amazing lunch at Ristorante La Loggetta – the seabass was to die for! Followed by the biggest ice cream ever, can you spot a pattern here?!

Friday – time for the main event! I spent some time with the boys by the pool to get fun shots of them chilling, before having to put their tuxedos on in 38 degree heat!

Poor Jodie had her makeup artist cancel the day before, but luckily the amazing wedding planner Rosie managed to find another fantastic MUA. The girls were pretty chilled albeit a little bit nervous.

The ceremony was later in the day at 4pm in Passignano at La Rocca di Passignano sul Trasimeno, which overlooks Parco Regionale del Lago Trasimeno. Jodie and her dad made their way up to the ceremony, shaded from the sun by the beautiful Tuscan buildings. There were small pockets of light shining through the houses which made for some dramatic shots of them both.

For the reception we headed back to La Dogana for drinks and delicious Italian food.

The table setup was to die for under the magical Tuscan sky and with stunning views across the countryside, what more could you want?!

The evening and party was in the barn at the bottom of the estate and boy, was it a party! The shots were flowing and so were the guests, in a worm dance off!

Thank you both for an epic few days in Italy!
