Peterhouse College Wedding Photographer | Emma & Hunter
Today I’m taking a look back at Emma and Hunter’s beautiful wedding at Peterhouse College, Cambridge. It is the smallest and the oldest Cambridge College, founded in 1284, making it the perfect setting for an intimate wedding.
Our couple had guests flying in from all over the world, including the USA, so it was a super fun gathering. Everyone had a lovely time catching up!
As this was a smaller wedding, my day started at the ceremony, where I joined the groomsmen welcoming guests, and eagerly awaiting the bride! We started the day at St. Mary’s Church, for the ceremony, before taking a short walk over to Peterhouse, through the historic Cambridge streets.
When we arrived at the college we found the room lit by candles, ready for the reception. It was dark, but I didn’t mind this – I captured some really atmospheric shots in the cosy space. No need for a flash either, which can also be distracting for the guests.
After some really emotional (and funny!) speeches, it was time for a great meal. The small room was absolutely packed with guests, which made it all the more fun. For the evening entertainment the newlyweds hired The Travelling Hands band, a fun acoustic band that were perfect for the setting.
This short but sweet wedding was a real celebration of Cambridge – it was so nice to shoot in such a historic building, and to explore my home city a little with the couple during the day.
Thank you Emma and Hunter, your day was great!
