Dubai Wedding Photographer | Georgia & Adam
It was so incredible to be Georgia & Adam’s Dubai Wedding Photographer! Sunsets, sea and partying, this was the vibe for their fun but relaxed destination wedding in Dubai.
This was my first trip to Dubai, and it’s so different to anywhere I’ve ever been before. It’s hard to believe it’s manmade, and I spent a lot of time staring up at the impressive skyscrapers on my first day.
I arrived on Wednesday, ahead of the wedding on Sunday, to get a feel for the area. The next day I had a tour of the venue – Park Hyatt Dubai and met the wedding planner, this time was key to help me scout locations for couple portraits on the wedding day. The venue is Nestled on the shores of the Dubai Creek, a luxury hotel and Spa.
On Friday Georgia and Adam kicked things off with a boat party, setting sail from Dubai Marina after lunch. Jack the DJ brought the party to life as it set sail in the afternoon sunshine. After a few hours on the boat I really got to know the guests, ready for the wedding day. After a fantastic few hours and some great tunes from Jack, we headed back to dry land, stopping off at a few bars to end the day.
The next day the guests recovered with an afternoon brunch at El Chiringuito, part of the Rixos Palm Dubai complex. It’s the perfect place to chill; the outdoor areas are draped with climbing plants and filled with comfy sofas. I got some lovely shots of Georgia and Adam, their family and friends.
On to the big day! The wedding ceremony took place late on Sunday afternoon in the gardens of the Park Hyatt Dubai, a hotel set on the banks of the Dubai Creek. As we were in Dubai we could take advantage of the (near constant) sun and have an outdoor ceremony, framed by beautiful palm trees and whitewashed buildings.
Before the ceremony I first visited the boys while they were getting ready, getting some great shots of the groom and the groomsmen. I think there was more excitement than nerves in this group!
Then over to see the bride, her bridesmaids and family who were relaxing with some champagne and nibbles before hair and make up. This wedding was intimate, for close family and friends only, so the lead up to the ceremony was a little more relaxed than other weddings.
Then it was over to the gardens for the ceremony, where I took some shots of the guests arriving and the excited groom. The modern space was absolutely wonderful, such a unique setting for a wedding ceremony.
During the wedding reception I captured some lovely candid shots of the newlyweds and their guests, the outdoor setting gave us particularly good light too.
While this was a relaxed and intimate wedding, time was short for photos. I had around an hour and a half to capture the reception, group shots and the couples’ portrait. This wasn’t a problem though; as I’d explored the venue well beforehand I knew exactly what to do where and when.
Just as the sun was setting Georgia and Adam made it to the harbour, where we got some fantastic sunset shots. The golden light is like no other I’ve seen before, totally incredible.
Our fun-loving Mr and Mrs then headed off to start the after party, which carried on ’til 2am, very impressive!
Destination weddings are just so magical!
